BACKGROUND expanded:
Ty has built his career on creativity, craftsmanship, and hands-on production expertise. Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Ty discovered his passion for design early, creating apparel for school clubs, special events, and sports teams throughout high school. This foundation led him to pursue formal training in Graphic Design at Penn Valley Community College.
In 2008, Ty moved to Los Angeles to expand his artistic skill set and explore fine art. During this time, he successfully built a niche business creating and selling hundreds of custom hand-painted shoes and apparel pieces, blending illustration, fashion, and street culture.
Ty returned to Kansas City in 2011 to join a made-to-order e-commerce apparel company, where he quickly advanced from Heat Press Operator to Graphic Designer and ultimately Production Manager. This experience deepened his understanding of end-to-end production workflows, team leadership, and large-scale custom printing.
Ready for new challenges, Ty transitioned into screen printing, starting as a Press Assistant and Graphic Designer. His drive and adaptability soon earned him the role of Senior Graphic Designer, where he not only led creative work but also oversaw shop operations during the owner’s extended international travel.
Seeking continued growth, Ty relocated to Colorado to further his career in the apparel industry while simultaneously expanding his freelance design practice. Starting again from the ground level in Quality Control, he rapidly advanced to Press Operator, Production Artist, and eventually Art Director—demonstrating both his technical versatility and his commitment to mastering every aspect of apparel production.
Today, Ty brings almost 2 decades of experience across design, print production, and team leadership to every project. His diverse background—from fine art to high-volume manufacturing—enables him to deliver creative solutions that are both visually compelling and production-ready.
